Dual screen resetting
Okay, so I have a dual screen setup on the same card, and it was working great before, and I restarted, and it was still working. Well, not all of a sudden it isn't working anymore. I can get it to work, but it stops after restarting. And I have to set it up again. I have ATI's Catilyst Control Center installed, and was using that and it worked fine up until now. Any help?
Thank you. ~Nicane |

Have you updated your drivers?
I Have two video cards one Ati 3850 and an x600 series. When I install the drivers for the x600 the x600 stops working. When I roll my drivers back to the windows 7 drivers they work fine. But one problem I do have is my screens like to swap positions. I use a 2,1 setup. and it swaps to 1,2 when i close some full screen apps. What video card do you use? And I recently replied to another post of yours and I noticed you dont have your system specs filled out. Please do so it makes assistance so much easier. https://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...tem-specs.html |

It's the Radeon 2400 HD. It worked fine before. I had no problems, then it just started doing this. The drivers are up to date, but they seem to be rolling back automatically? I don't know, it seems strange.
And I will get right on that. ![]() |

Yea I can understand that, sometimes I wish there was some standard and just upload a text document to all of them :P
But Are you using the driver provided by WinUpdate? Or the one provided on ATI's site? Even though I believe they are the same drivers no real way to check. Does it Go back to one screen after a re-boot? or while you are on the pc? Does the second screen show up under display options? and does your video card have a lovely yellow triangle in device manager? I am about to email them about my issue :P |

Hm, which question shall I answer first..
![]() The one on ATI's site that comes with the Catilyst Control Center. After the re-boot, it works fine while I have it set up. BUT, I got this freaky thing (which I blame CCC for) where it kept turning on and off. After ending CCC, it fixed. So maybe just a bug there. Yes, it shows it and I can duplicate or extend my desktop. And no, it shows fine in device manager. Ya know, I used to try to get two cards working like that, but it wouldn't because of two different drivers. It was awful! One would be perfect, the other would work, but as 8-bit at 600x800 or something crazy like that. ![]() |

In winx64 I never had a problem with the two drivers.
Maybe try to uninstall CCC go back to ati's website make sure your getting the 64 bit version. they love to hide those for some reason. |

Haha, maybe. But it WAS working fine. So I don't blame ATI, I blame Windows and something that happened. I may end up reinstalling just because I'm running into a LOT of various problems lately.
