    Nvidia Geforce 5700fx

Hi, I have Nvidia Geforce 5700FX graphics card.

Windows Update can't find drivers for this card. Where can I get drivers for this card?

I would need to change resolution to 1,680 x 1,050 of my monitor (Samsung 215TW) How can i do this ? I suppose graphics card driver would solve this.

    Regards, Ales

Just download the latest Vista driver for your card from Nvidia and it should work fine.

Hi Giraffe and welcome to Se7en Forums

Here are the links to the drivers you require. Note that these are quite old (Oct 17, 2006) and that they are the final drivers released for that card. As such, it is questionable whether or not they will work satisfactorily in Vista, let alone W7. You can try the relevant driver, but I strongly recommend that you upgrade your graphics card to a more capable model, such as a GeForce 8800GT (or better), providing that you can find a model suitable for your motherboard's graphic interface which, since you have an old card, is likely to be AGP as opposed to PCIe.

    64-bit: ForceWare Release 95

I suspect that you have a fairly old system, and as such are unlikely to get satisfactory performance in W7. What are your System Specs? We might be able to give you further pointers on where you can improve performance.

Hi, Thanks for those advices. I have Pentium 4 3GHz, Geforce 5700 fx (AGP), 1.25Mb of RAM. Well, I found my system satisfactory. It is rather old system, but I can not afford new one at this time.

    Same problem

I have the same problem here. I got a Nvidia FX 5700VE card. Tried to install the latest drivers from Nvdia (96.85 vista 64), but windows 7 gives a black screen on restarting. Are their any alternative drivers for this card?

I have a 5950 ultra and im having the same problem.....I use the same driver as the 5700......After installing the driver, on reboot Im getting out of range signal...I think its trying to use a screen resolution that my monitor cant handle.......I have a NEC Multysync LCD1935nxm.... worked fine on XP & Vista.......1280 X 1024 is the nativ setting ....I installed my monitor drivers so its listed in the screen resolution area but as soon as I install nvidia 96.85 drivers I cant boot up....if i go in with safe mode, my monitor isnt listed anymore, it just says default monitor and my monitor isnt even listed in the device manager ! frustrating

    Driver problem

Yes, certainly no nice business. These cards used to work fine in xp and even vista. You can either wait until nvidia makes driver suitable for win 7 (which can last a long time), or do as I did: Invest 50 euro, and buy a new graphics card....with suitable win 7 drivers (bought an asus 3600). I did....and I'm not dissapointed at all. Even if you get these cards to work (and believe me I tried and tried) they can't display the aero effects of win 7. And these are absolutely great great great! Especially since I came from a xp environment.

I tried the recomended drivers for my FX 5700 card. But no game. Tried to force newer drivers for win 7 on this card, but it wouldn't take it.

I wish I would know an answer to the problem, just because it's nice to have it solved. But I guess it really comes down to bad drivers, and I'm not whizkid enough to make better ones. Though if you get it tor work I'd like to know!

I have build 7600....................................out of sheer frustration I loaded the drivers off my nvidia disc, The version was 5.3 or 5.6... super super old.....I hit f8 and booted in low res 640x480 and to my surprise I got in......But If I took the resolution off of 640x480 I would get the out of range message........even @ 800x600!!!! So I put xp back on and have a few 7800's im lookin at on ebay.......
