Having trouble installing any and all Nvidia drivers.

I've seen this problem all over the internet, and after a day or two of following every step I've seen on this forum and others, I'm still standing at a giant brick wall.
Here's my problem. Yesterday I went to the nvidia website and did a scan for a graphics driver update on my integrated Geforce 6150se nforce 430. After downloading and attempting to install the new driver, it failed at around the 1/6-1/7th mark on the install. I googled the issues, finding quite a few people with similar/the same problems, so I tried following the advice given to them. I've tried uninstalling my current driver in device manager, rebooting, then installing; that didn't work. I've also tried uninstalling, rebooting, then manually updating in device manager. In one thread I lurked, the OP was told to download a driver sweeper, but the driver sweeper he was linked to is now discontinued, so I suppose I'm out of luck there. After attempting all of that a dozen or so times, I thought maybe the driver (301.42) just wouldn't work on my comptuer for some odd reason, so I went to the HP website, since I have an old Pavilion, to try and install my old, original driver. Neither of the possible methods worked on that either, so I'm duped.

Well, I guess this should be in the drivers section, but I've tried some more. I tried a driver sweeper to clean up everything, then repeated the whole reboot-install process. Nothing is working. My windows is now running back on some automatically installed setup; my resolution and all is fine, but I can't start up anything, minecraft for instance, without it saying I need to update my drivers then exiting.

Hi Standards, Welcome to the forums , Try this driver NVIDIA DRIVERS 190.38WHQL It is always preferable to use the laptop manufacturers own gfx drivers as they are tweaked to suit the mobo , If you tell us the model # of your laptop we may be able to find a driver suited to you :)

I don't have a laptop. I have a HP Pavilion (model number- p6243w) desktop. I fixed this, sort of. I still can't update, so I just restored to my computer to 2 days ago where everything was fine as is.

Sorry for the confusion, Standards this must be the link you used HP Pavilion p6200 Desktop PC series - Original NVIDIA Graphics Driver - HP Business Support Center
,Are you running the install as administrator? As to why you cannot install the original driver I don't Know, Have you tried windows update to see if microsoft can find an updated driver ?

Yea, that's it. I ran all installs as admin. I tried windows update as well. I'm back to the original, my starting point, now because of the restore, but I'd rather not try updating again if it's just going to do the same.

Yea, it's fine. The whole point of the attempted update was just to see if any other games could run a little better. Since my integrated graphics is supported by the latest update, I figured it would be alright. I'll just mark this solved for now and know better next time.
