    Computer noob needs Dual Monitor help


    Hey guys/gals,

    i need a little help with Windows 7 duel monitoring,

    im running Windows 7 on my laptop, and want to hook up a 2nd stand alone monitor to the left hand side of my laptop.

    i hooked the monitor in correctly but my laptop doesnt notice that the 2nd screen is plugged in.

    any idea's what could be the problem ?

    Try the windows key +P

    if that doesn't work tell us how the monitor is connected and what your hardware is

    Some laptops have a Function button, it may be blue, and above keys or on them, a blue symbol, corresponding to the function key. Meaning if you see a screen type symbol, try holding the function key and hitting that button. Or go into control panel and the display options. More importantly, though, as someone mentioned, information on the laptop is important. Model Number / Make, etc.

    Also, in addition to the options above you can rt-click the desktop & choose 'Screen Resolution', from here you can click 'Detect' and this will cause Windows to output to all attached monitors, based on the settings in the main half of the screen

    turned out i forgot to instal my video drivers >.<

    No problem but Please still fill out your system specs in user cp. so if you have any other problems people can see exactly what your hardware and system is and it will make it alot easier to find someone to help you. Thanks and welcome tpo seven forums.
