Nvidia Driver currupted, cannot uninstall or install over
Hi people.
As the title suggests I have some driver problems..
Today I tried to install over my Nvidia Drivers because Minecraft was running into problems.
I went to start the installer it went to check my system for compatibility it did that for about a millisecond then went past the options screen and gave me "Nvidia Driver Installer Failed" with no explanation. I just assumed that the drivers had to be uninstalled before re-installing.
I uninstalled the drivers in safe mode through (control panel > add or remove programs)
and hence why I am asking this question the same screen came up "Nvidia Driver Installer Failed" without going to the option screen.
When I check the device status Windows gives me "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
Clicking un-install on device manager does nothing.
I've tried using driver sweeper and multiple techniques has anyone got any suggestions?
I also tried system restore but I accidentally cleared my restores the other day (silly me) and windows update gives me an install error 800f001D8 or something along those lines, I googled all of these and found nothing useful.
System Specs:
Win 7 64-bit
2 GTX 570's in SLI (re-seated them twice to see if that would solve the problem but, no.)
Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3
Intel i7 3890
12GB of RAM
