    no signal on monitor

when I switch on the computer, on the monitor, I just see the start window and green dots running, then the monitor screen went black and say 'no signal', I can't even switch off the computer unless holding the switch button for a while. How to fix this problem?

Is the problem with the computer it's self? Or with the monitor... a few things that you could try is putting in a new VGA, or rebooting in safe-mode. Let me know if this helps.

Along with following Peanuts advise, i suggest these steps.
    1) Swap the cable being used also please let me know what type of video cable are you using. VGA/DVI/HDMI
    2) If that didn't work is there another computer you can plug the monitor into? if so do so with the same cable.
    3) if it does work we know it's not an issue with the monitor but with computer video chip/video card

-) What kind if outputs does your tower have? I would know this if you would let me know what kind of video card is in your computer
-) what inputs does your monitor have?

(I may be working so i may not be able to reply to you right away)
