Radeon HD 6670 wont detect second monitor.

I have looked all over the internet trying to figure out what to do about this. I have two VGA monitors that I would like to hook up to my GPU (listed above) there is one VGA port which works fine with both monitors, the other port is a DVI-I dual link port. Both monitors work when plugged into the VGA port, but when I plug one into the DVI-I port (with an adapter) windows or AMD catalyst will not detect it. If I'm not mistaken DVI-I supports analog, so VGA should work with an adapter. I have updated all the drivers. Please help.

I have seen other similar threads but none with the port configuration that I have. Stormy13 has answered a lot of them explaining that one of the DVI ports will not support VGA, but I don't think that is my problem because I have DVI-I. Thank you in advance.

The monitors support VGA only. They have no other outputs...or inputs. Thanks for trying.

On cards with a VGA port, the dvi port usually doesn't have analog on the dvi, even though the dvi port has the analog pins showing.

That card will only do 2 monitors, one hdmi or dvi (can't use both at the same time) and one VGA.

Thank you. I called Tech Support for my computer and they said the same thing. The DVI will run digital only.

some cards actually have a stamp near the ports.
My 6950 which arrived yesterday has 2 DVI ports and both ports are the same with the analog pins in them, but one has a "VGA" Stamp next to it indicating that it has the Analog built in.

I looked at other various cards last night and some dual DVI cards have different DVI ports, with one port being digital only so you can't even plug in a DVI to VGA adapter.

They need to indicate on the packaging what ports can do what and how many you can have active at the same time.
If they do say something, it's probably in small text hidden on the bottom of the box.

My 6950 can do 6 screens and it does say on the box, but doesn't say what ports you need to use, other than a hub is required to run 6 screens.
