At the moment my HD4830 is taking me very well, I'll just consider a change next year if prices are attractive (in Brazil the video cards are more expensive, high taxes)

Well if what you have now is fine for what you need it for, then I wouldn't worry too much about upgrading to these. I missed out the GT200 series and didn't upgrade from my 8800s and these are still fine for what I do.

I'm also going to wait for all the prices before deciding whether to upgrade to a new Nvidia card.

Recommend me an HD5870 based on experience.
Time to upgrade from my GTX260 to a HD5870. I'm looking for one that's quiet and runs cool. The Sapphire Vapor-X Rev 2 looks interesting but I've read mixed reviews because they went the cheap route as compared to Rev 1. Descent overclocking is a plus.

HD5870 & HD5870x2 revealed.....
source those are some crazy stats, if they turn out to be real, though *IIRC* isn't the GT300 supposed to have double the SPs of the current GT200?..... If so, RV870 with only 50% more SPs are going to have a tough fight.... 2 TFLOPs per GPU?!?! That would be a great result for folding...
