If device manager says "standard vga", then you aren't running 191.07. Install by using the device manager itself. Right click standard vga, update driver software, browse, let me pick, have disk, browse, now find the .inf that the driver download .exe extracted.

No no, the device manager recognize it as a 8400gs but when i try to change the resolution and refresh rate.. it shows as "Generic non-PnP monitor in standard vga card" and if i go into devices and printers theres one that says "non specified" and "standard vga card" is on there! i even have the nvidia manager on the control panel, i really don't know what to do

    Any ideas?

Post a screenshot of your device manager showing display adapters and also showing the result when you double click the card and go to driver tab.

Is your PC working well and you have Aero? If so, I don't see any problems anywhere.

the weird thing is this, i removed the video card, and tested it with the integrated graphics card, via igp something weird.. installed the drivers, and NO problems! so that's why im thinking is the video card.. everything worked fine with the integrated, PnP monitor on IGP blah blah.. with the 8400gs (even though i "have" the drivers installed) doesnt recognize it i don't know why....

oh and the other thing.. the video card shows itself as a USB device!! i can even remove it safely! let me upload it

There u go.. look at the right bottom of the screen.. it says i can safely remove VGA card, this doesn't happen with the integrated card, and it should NOT be happening on a regular basis i tell you, im extremely lost here and i dont know what to do

Go into bios, disable the integrated video. Reboot to Windows 7. Use PC. Set it and forget it. Enjoy PC.
