MSI 7528 MOBO and bad on-board VGA port
Hello all-I am having a host of problems with this. Hope someone can help.
I have a W7 Pro 32k desktop PC with an MSI MS-7528 mobo.
The on-board graphics port is for sure bad; the output on the monitor is fuzzy and has horizontal lines throughout the screen. But that's not the problem....
The mobo has (2) PCI 1.0 slots; (1) PCIe x16 slot; and (1) PCIe x1 slot.
When I try to install a replacement graphics card and then connect a monitor to the new graphics card's VGA port, I get a "check video signal" error message on the monitor.
I have tried (2) different graphics cards.
#1 is an ATI Rage PCI card, which has been installed in both of the available regular PCI slots
#2 is an MSI RX9250 ATI Radeon graphics card, which has been installed in the PCIe x 16 slot
No matter what, I am never able to get a signal to the monitor. That is also after pre-installing the drivers for both cards and disabling the on-board graphics adapter and several power cycles.
Is this just a bad MOBO? Or am I installing the wrong types of replacement graphics cards in the wrong slots?
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
