New Radeon HD 7870 not detected

Hello, I just changed my GTX 570 (defective) for a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 2GB. I uninstalled my NVIDIA drivers with driver sweeper and all. When I open my computer, my card is detected as Standard VGA and when I install the ATI drivers, my card is not detected either. The ATI Technologies folder is still empty. I even tried to reset my BIOS.

    My motherboard is a MSI Z77A-G45 (pci-e 3.0 compatible)

Is this a DOA card? Thanks for your answers.

Its nothing to do with the bios.
Is the driver installing failing saying that proper hardware is not detected ? ? ?
Dont worry its not big issue as the card is giving display atleast ....

TRY the latest driver from the ati site ....

    I have some news.
I have done something so install it, tell me if everything is ok. I went into device manager and right clicked on the stardard VGA and went to properties. There, I chose to manually install the drivers from a file on my PC and I selected the 12.8 drivers from Radeon. Now it is detected as Radeon HD 7800 series. Even in GPU-z. Is this how it is supposed to be? Nothing detect it as HD 7870 precisely. I can open and play my games, but I do not have Catalyst center, etc. And the installation of the AMD catalyst file still doesnt work. Someone told me that a clean install of W7 could maybe solve the problem. (BTW everything is up-to-date: BIOS, drivers, etc)
    What do you think?

Perfectly normal for it to show up like that. My 6850 does the same,

and the 4850 I had before that was the same, showed as HD 4800 Series.

Ok thanks! S it looks like it's working.
Any thoughts on why I can't install Catalyst programs? And is my graphic card losing potential without all these drivers and programs + Catalyst control center?

I know I shouldn't be posting here, but have you tried AutoPatcher (APUP)?

NOT AT ALL the catalyst center is just for tweaks or advance settings nothing to do with performance though
