Installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my Vaio; lowered maximum resolution!

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate from a CD on my Vaio laptop. product number: SVS13A190X. I used to have up to 1920 x 1280 resolution but now I only have up to 1600 x 900. I have a NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT 640M LE 2GB Dedicated Graphic Card. Is there any way to get my old maximum resolution back?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I would try updating the graphics card drivers by downloading the latest ones, if that fails I would also try an older version of the drivers just in case they have changed something since

i downloaded all the NVIDIA from Sony eSupport - SVS13A190X - Drivers & Software and installed it. Didn't make a difference. I restarted, reinstalled, ... no difference.

And you're sure you completely installed the driver?

It doesn't have any problems, it installs, says it's finished & asks to restart.
