    Second monitor not detected

I am attempting to add a second monitor to my hardware setup in Win 7.
Both graphics cards are identified in device manager, but the only monitor
that is detected is the one attached to the graphics card I designate as primary
in the bios and is designated as generic plug and play. The other graphics card is seen but but without a monitor . I know the monitors and graphics cards are not the problem since they both work as long as I designate one as being primary.

It should be noted that I am using ATI graphics cards. One card is a PCI-E and
the other is a PCI Radeon. The PCI-e is identifed as such in device manager
but the PCI Radean comes up as VGA.

Im using Win 7 sp1. Hopefully some one can tell me what I need to do toget
    this up and running.

bquan94545 welcome to the Seven Forums.

These should help explain why it isn't working,

Mixing it up Geforce GTX 260 and a Geforce FX 5500

    Help with dual video cards

Would help to know the model of both cards as you only list the 9000 in your specs.

P.S. You should be able to run two monitors off of the PCI-E card.

    Vid card model numbers

The cards that I am tgrying to use are:
    ATI Fire GL V3100
    and
    ATI Radeon 9000/256M.

You mentioned that I should be able to run 2 monitors off the PCI-E card.
Does that mean I have to get a digital cable: I don't have a manual.

As long as one of your monitors has a DVI port on it, yes. That would be the easiest solution than trying to get the 9000, which has to use the last XP driver and the cause of things not working.

I found a copy of the Fire GL V3100 manual. It says I can't run dual monitors
on the 3100 card, I need the 3200 card to do that. Anyhjow I found a 3200
card on EBAY so i need to wait until it arrives before I can explore that.

    thx

Hope you didn't pay too much for it as it is old and unsupported anymore. You can get a current card for not much, and it will support dual monitors no problem and still be receiving driver updates.
