    Problem installing GPU

I have just built an Ivy Bridge with an i5 3570K an Asus P8Z77-V board 8GB RAM etc etc

Now I have had no luck installing a Xonar card on this machine and now the Asus GTX 650 is giving me grief.

I followed the instructions to the letter and three attempts to install the driver from the disk is just not working. The screen is a mess of horizontal pixelated lines that makes it hard to see anything the resolution is as about low as it can get. the machine boots with that old Vista type green spots going across.

I keep getting this quick message that says something about not loading a .dll and also a VGA driver.

I am at a complete loss for words this build is turning out to be a nightmare on steroids.

Any ideas please before they cart me off in the yellow van

Make sure the GPU is fully seated in the top PCIe x16 slot and both power connectors are all the way in. The power connectors will click when all the way in. Connect you monitor cable to the GPU connector, not the one on the board.
I would suggest using the DVI connection instead of the small VGA.
After you confirm it's all properly installed, run Window update to see if that will find and grab the driver for you. The driver on the CD is likely out of date anyway.

May sound simple but these things are often overlooked.

Ok well the only power point I can find Gary is the six pack on the top of the card. It snaps into place with a definite click and yes I tried both DVI sockets I never use the VGA much these days only on older fixes.

Problem is being able to see what one is doing as the screen is so chaotic I'll try it again and send some pics of the screen. Having said that it will probably go ok this morning

Yes mate I think from memory it is the driver but it just would not install I even tried using the 7Zip to unpack it but there were so many items contained in it I really was at a loss (and it was getting late) as to which one I should use.

Which begs the question can I download that driver and install it with the card out of the machine because trying to see it with the card in the screen is just chaotic - looks a bit like Jacobs coat!

Plus do I download from Global (DLM) Global or P2P? I did try the Asia one and the US referenced one but it was just late and I was in danger of making more problems than I already had.

The sticker on the end of the box is just a bar code with # 15000-01921000.

just posting a sugestion, does the display work fine in safe mode?
If so download the latest drivers on a usb stick from another computer and install it in safe mode on your pc. If this still fails and your screen is messed up it may be due to the video bios on the GPU.
