I recommend cooler master hyper TX3, I've been using it for almost a year already and my temps sit 33c idle even though it's Overclocked to 3.6 and the default clocks were 3.1. Max temps I get when under stress is about 44c. Also the great thing about it is it's a $23usd cpu heat sink and works way better then my default heat sink which had my cpu running at 45c idle and 55c under stress. I got mine at newegg though i'm sure they sell it else where http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...%20hyper%20TX3

Supports these sockets for intel , Socket LGA 775/1156/1155, see yours is 775 so it should be ok if you got this or you can get the other one that was mentioned which is good too.

ok, hope that solves my problem... by your opinion, how are my other temperatures standing? do i have to change something else?
Your CPU temps are fine. 55c is nothing - save your money that is not your problem. Try reinstalling (the latest) video drivers. Run some memory tests. If those don;t tell you anything, you may have a failed graphics card.
    http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/306382.pdf

States the maximum temp for that P4 CPU is 66C at max power at which point the CPU will basically shut down and before reaching the shut down temperature it will throttle itself. The poster has been complaining of such issues at 55C. I suspect he needs a new cooler, I am sure he is still using the original OEM job which is marginal at best and after several years of work needs to be replaced.

Ok, so i have yesterday measured 59C! Game had stopped... I have a Intel LGA 775 standard cooler. Before i noticed the display problems, the fan was spinning @ 3500 rpm. Now, it is rotating @ 2360. On every boot it has less rpm...

That's quite normal I think. Just keep an eye out for abnormal readings, as Indianatone said. Change the heat sink as fast as possible, I have had good luck with CoolerMaster HyperTX3 for years now. They have other ranges of heat sinks too, if they're available in your locality.
Yea, i can buy the Hyper TX3 in my country.

I have already tried to install the latest drivers for y GPU-check out this tread to see what happened:
ATI Radeon HD 5450 Driver problem!. lets say that my pc started to lag even when i am browsing the net or on You-tube... My 3 GB of ram are in perfect condition, i did a memo test 1 week ago. I still think that the overheating CPU is the problem.

That will be a good purchase :)
Don't forget to post back after the new cooler is installed on your temps as this will help someone else out in the future.

As Geno said that is not the problem and honestly he is using a single core chip P4 that is hella slow he is lucky he got that far and im sure the GPU did most of the work

I can assure you your Temps are fine those chips can get up into the high 70's to 80c so your well within spec

if you are having fan speed changes and all go into bios and check your fan settings to the MB look around your bios for incorrect settings or if something has changed

If your performance has took a major dive and struggling to stay stable it maybe time to look into replacing your system

I would recommend replacing MB CPU RAM if everything else on your system is good that is all you will need and the trouble will go away more or less unless your card is starting to give out

Well... this is what I'll do:
    1. I will buy a new CPU heat sink
    2. Play the same games, and see if the problem appears again.
    3. If so, i will then continue testing my components
    4. If i put a core2quad Q6600 @ 2.44 GHz or a core2Duo(probably 2.6-3.0), i will have to change my CPU heat sink anyway? -Am i correct.
So buying a better CPU heat sink isn't a mistake as i can see.
BTW can i ask for some advice about upgrading my pc?
    1. as Solarstarshines mentioned, I should change my CPU MB and RAM.
    2. I would like to stay on this board
    3. Probably I am going to put 4 GB of new memory
    4. I need a good GPU, not only for gaming. I am not a addicted to games... probably a 1GB card, but with a higher clock.

p.s. I have 18 years. My parents don't buy me these kind of things, neither do they give me money. I work in order to buy myself something that i want. That's why i have so old component's (in average, my pc is from 2008.) I'd really like to have a modern machine, and i know where to get all the components in like 3 days. Just don't have the cash...

you could get a MB and Ram for about 90 bucks and this is up to date hardware the only real expense would be the CPU and if you are still going with Intel then you are looking to spend atlest 300.00

If you happen to get the quadcore model cpu if your board allows it then that would be the option the GPU will cost no matter how you look at it you want something better be ready to have atleast 150.00 available to buy other then that those are the key things you would need the ram if it is DDR2 is really expensive so is DDR1 that is why i said go with a newer board it is alot cheaper
