Well it seems I have reached an impasse. The Intel control panel for my graphics card tells me my TV/monitor is not supported ( via HDMI). I have raised this with the TV manufacturer and selling agent (Argos) but they state they have no control over third party devices attached to the TV so I cannot claim under warranty or sale of goods. I pointed out that most laptops have Intel GD and I could easily connect to other TVs and monitors. I now have to wait/hope Intel will produce a suitable driver for this particular brand of TV/monitor, or switch to a VGA mode, or get myself a compatible FSTV. Thanks for the help guys otherwise....

I had it confirmed to me that no driver is available from either Microsoft or Intel to allow me to use HDMI from my laptop to FSTV. I have therefore ordered a VGA plus audio cable for the TV PC input. Beware everyone that not all FSTV's can be used via HDMI as a link to computers!.....

Mine is a Medion laptop running windows 7 home premium. The TV is a Bush 46" backlit LED FS HD with freeview installed. It has 3 separate HDMI inputs and was sold to me on its gaming etc connectivity.

But no matter how I tried different drivers, screen settings etc I could only get a basic VGA output via safe mode displayed - hopeless.

After several conversations with the manufacturers they admit it is a hardware incompatibility I must live with and the only solution is a VGA cable plus separate audio cable connection. This I have done and it works well but its still not HDMI !.

So beware that not all modern technology will interface/communicate correctly. I only learnt after already spending some £600 on the lappie and TV. Worth checking that HDMI will work between devices before shelling out the cash!

Perhaps when I have time I will look further in to it, as the BUSH TV does work when using my PC with the TV via HDMI. My PC has an inexpensive dedicated Graphics card; an ASUS EAH4350.
It's just the laptop with the problem; a Toshiba Satellite L750-16L. So need to find the missing link. Problem is that it isn't my laptop, so I don't have carte blanche.

    Hi

    try using linux!

i have the same problem with my acer 4830tg. hd3000 and 540m and windows7 whatever.in the past it is working but now not.

hdmi output works like a charm on mac os mavericks and all other linux.(yes i hackintoshed it)

But it is not working on all windows 7 and 8 versions.

it is not working on all driver combinations for hd3000 and 540m on the earth.

it is not working on fully acer erecovery formatted and formatted from erecovery dvd (fabric format reset for all hdd)

So this is a hardware problem.it is a broken side of hdmi chip which necessary for poor f..kng windows.

so i find the solution but this is not comfortable as orginal not broken hd3000.
So my laptop is broken anyway.

To enable hdmi you must disable hd3000 from device manager and enable it again.
in windows 7 after disabling there is a black screen so you cant enable it
in windows 8.1 you can do that.

    or

you can use devcon.exe you can download 64bit version of it from microsoft.

but you must use compatible one.İf you are using windows 7-8 you must have new one which is in a very huge package windows wdk stuff so i upload it there for who troubleshooting with this.Copy devcon.exe to your windows directory.

create a txt file and rename it with extension blabla.bat

here is my turnonfckinghdmi.bat file :

    Code:
    devcon.exe restart PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_054F1025&REV_09\3&11583659&0&10
you can learn your hd3000 adres from device manager. This bat file sometimes works very slow wait e few minutes and dont forget run as admin.
