Sorry I wasnt here for the last few days. I hope that the DVI cable solves your issue. As above. Whatever happens, tell us how it went

I'd like to mention a few things that may help clarify a few things in this thread. There is DVI-I, I meaning integrated, analog and digital. DVI-D, D meaning Digital only. In order for a DVI to VGA adapter to work the source has to be a DVI-I. All it does is reroute some of the pins. It's just wires inside. A DVI-D connector has no analog signal so that's why it didn't work. Also, the connector on the monitor is a DVI-D, digital only. If you look at it some of the holes are blocked off, the analog ones. A DVI-I male connector will not fit into a female DVI-D connector. Luckily it looks like the OP ordered the correct DVI-D male to male cable. I only mention this incase this type of issue comes up again and some of you get involved in this type of discussion again. The connectors on the video card may be DVI-D but usually appear to have all the pins there and you could easily think they are DVI-I. It can be a real head scratcher until you read the manual for the video card.

Alright, I'm back, and with some great news! The DVI cable came in the mail today, plugged it in, and kablamo! My computer instantly recognized the second monitor.

Thank all of you for helping me (and my second monitor) out.

Now, I need to set this bad boy up. I will definitely come back here if I have any more questions. :)
