laptop overheat. Need help.

My Dell xps m1330 laptop has an integrated video card (Nvidia 8400 gs) which has an overheat issue. How to fix this problem which causes the screen to shut off by itself or turn blue/white. Thanks.

- Check the laptop for obstructions (dust, etc) around the vents. Compressed air is recommended.

How do I clean my laptop?

- Always put the laptop on a firm surface (not a pillow, bedspread, etc) so vents are not blocked.

- Consider using a laptop cooling pad for additional ventilation. - cooling pad for laptop

- Install monitoring software to see real time temperatures for GPU, CPU, HDD, etc. Some free apps:



If problems continue it may be necessary to have the laptop checked out by a professional repair shop.
