On a unrelated subject i was playing crysis for 20mins lastnight when i was driving about and my computer crashed the screen went a plain light grey color then made a very load noise, had to restart the pc to fix it and when i did my cpu went back to it's default speed of 3.5ghz.. it asked me if i wanted to press f1 to set back to default or to just continue with the boot up..now i have it overclocked again @ 4.02ghz with no voltage tweaks, still not sure why my system crashed tho.

Because the overclock is unstable. 700mhz with no voltage increase is ridiculous.

You need to increase the Vcore in the BIOS to let the clock speed become stable at high frequencies.
I would not recommend you to overclock if you have not read the basics with attentions unless you want to fry your components

If you have no idea with it, it is not a good idea to leave it untouched when it comes to overclocking.
Look up more information before you attempt to overclock the chip.
