GPU came in today. the power supply should be here tomorrow, and the adapter friday. then TEST TIME!
Some Pics are up of adapter and GPU in the OP
but heres my concern. i bought a 6a PSU, and on the board near the power ssupply input, it says 3.0a?
you think it will be alright? how many amps does a normal PSU push in? i thought it was 5.5a
anyone?
It should be fine, The card will draw what it needs, no more. A PC PSU can vary depending on its ratings, 20A and up for 12V.
if this whole thing works, u guys have no idea how happy i will be! lol i will finally be able to play games in quality better and make and edit better videos!
Anyone have any enclosure ideas?
Here's a place to start, then try Amazon and eBay. Project Enclosure (8x6x3) : Project Boxes | RadioShack.com
you might want to make a mock-up up an enclosure with cardboard taped together to get an idea for size and component placement inside. I would add a simple on/off toggle switch to it so you can wait till the PC is on.
alright now is where i need help.... when i plug it into my computer, windows tries to install it, but it keeps failing. also my computer becomes ridicisiously slow and the audio chops up.
i found this:
How to make an external laptop graphics adaptor | News | TechRadar
but i can not get it to install nor do i see anything in device manager. any ideas?
