First of all, I looked up dell studio 1458 and there are several variants.

All of them have this fun feature (sarcasm): shared RAM; which means the RAM is used as video RAM too, that tells me the basic architecture is going to probably NOT be well suited for this endeavor, it's that big a performance hit, already.

Just my initial reaction to it, always advise avoiding shared memory PC/laptops, performance hit is ridiculous versus same without, when you get to pushing the limits as direct-x gaming does.

alright well after a lot of testing, m stuck at PCI 1.1 x1 speeds due to restrictions on my laptop. so it is what it is. if i have a PCI 2.0 compatible laptop, i would not have lag issues, but owell you can only get so good. so now the only thing i can do is Overclcock my FSB. thats all. my other options are to get another laptop. which is not happening lol. so for now, build is done.

i wil post a conclusion in the OP later tonight and also update the intro.

as much as you will hate me for this, naaa im not. 1 i spent way too much money, and 2 honestly i dont need it. i have it taped to a flat surface on my desk. its not exposed to electric and it cant get knocked off.

my next laptop it i get one is going to be a pci 2.0 or 3.0 compatible with dGPU. basically now i spent enough to build a basic/decent gaming computer. i spent about $400 in total with all the stuff i bought. rite now all i need to complete a desktop computer is keyboard, cpu, ram and case and mobo. i have everything else lol
