Hey, I might not have to do that. I just noticed that when I load up Win7, i get an error in the bottom right about a corrupt file.
Location: Users/Customer/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Themes/TranscodedWallpaper.jpg
It says that file is corrupt and to run a chkdsk or something like that. What do you think?
If you don't already have one, first thing I would do is use the Backup feature to create and burn a Win7 Repair CD. That will allow you to repair Windows boot problems easily.
As to the wallpaper, if the default image file is corrupted, it's likely that you will get the results you see. I would go into the desktop and just pick any other wallpaper to see what happens. IF that fixes it, you will need to get a new copy of that wallpaper file.
I don't really care about the boot thing as long as my desktop backround works, I only brought it up cause on UbuntuForums, one guy said the two could be related. I tried moving the file (not delete, so if it screwed something up, I could fix it easy.) and it said:
An unexpected error is keeping you from moving the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.
Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
Same error if I try to delete it. And if I try to replace it, I get the same error.
You would need to change the default background before you try to replace the file.
Did you try selecting a new backgound to see if that worked? You didn't say what you did.
If the changed background works OK, one way to get around Windows not letting you mess with the corrupted file is to do what I have done -- boot from an Ubuntu LiveCD or LiveUSB, mount the Windows partition, use a file manager to locate the corrupted file -- and delete it from there.
It seemed to fix itself. odd.
