    Yeah right.....

    Heres something else I found at MS again. Read especially the moderators (Nikki Han) comments about INSTALLING in compatibility mode. Might be a clue........ might not. I do have to get busy though, half packed and no supper yet. Will check back in as soon as I can.

    hmmmm.... let me try installing Black ops in compatibility with steam and windows 95

    BTW: DX11 is backwards compatible - it contains earlier versions..

    however, some games may come with their own DX installers, in which case
    additional components will be added to the resident version of DX9..
    sometimes these components only apply to specific games or programs..

    you can run earlier games in compatibility mode, via a right-click on the shortcut

    ..with specific games, it may be necessary to get onto the game's website/forums
    to find out the best compatibility settings, but there is also a list here:
