Error 0xc0000e After installing a new Video card
Hi all,
I recently upgraded (or, attempted to upgrade) my video card. I went from an nVidia 9500GT to an AMD Radeon 7750. All seemed to be going well, and i booted up with greatly improved graphics performance. I installed the new drivers, and everything was great.
I left town for the weekend, and came back to this error on startup 0xc0000e. (sorry, i can't remember the exact wording, but it basically says it's looking for hardware that it can't find.) I was able to switch the card back, and get the machine to boot up once. However, after the first try, I cannot boot with either card.
After some checking around, I believe it may be because I forgot to uninstall my nVidia drivers in device manager (self diagnosis, could be completely wrong..), and the machine is still looking for that device. I've tried booting without a video card, using only the onboard graphics, and that doesn't work either.
I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on a separate hard drive, with the 7750, and that is all working fine- So I think I can rule out my PSU being the issue.
I am totally lost, and feel like I've tried everything there is to try. Win 7 repair did nothing ("cannot repair your hard drive")- I tried to run a check disk the old disk from my new install, and it found no errors. I've seen suggestions to disable on board graphics, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that yet, and since it's working on my new disk, I don't imagine that is the problem.
Any help would be hugely appreciated, and if there is any more info I can provide please let me know.
Thanks
