Idle temp vs. actually in use, it's suppose to go up, and that range in the OP is excellent, my 7950 when I ran the Heaven 4.0 benchmark, jumped up to as high as 72, but that's still not a problem.

If it only distorts in that one game, it's probably not even your card that is the problem, and once a month glitch is within the range of normal, I would say.

Even so, blown out 3 video cards? You probably do have a heat problem in that case and I'd get some more fans and make sure the one in the back is sucking air OUT and that all the fans are cleared of dust/debris, and check for the video card driver setting for it's fan, maybe too low or even the BIOS fan settings could be too low and not getting enough airflow.

Could be PSU issue too, if it's more than 3 years old, I'd consider replacing anyway.
Some short in motherboard regulating things, getting a little less likely, but possible.
Any black marks on the motherboard itself or slight burn smell in the case?

if multiple video cards have gone bad in your computer, I'd start checking into things... try replacing your power supply with a new quality one (Antec, PCP&C, Seasonic, Corsair) to start with.

You really can't kill a GPU by "overheating it" - if it really does get too hot (which yours isn't), it will throttle itself and/or shut down to prevent damage

If it was my computer I would replace the power supply. Hopefully the power supply hasn't caused any other damage. A erratic power supply can cause any one of a number of problems. Two brands that come to mind are Corsair and Seasonic.

A quality power supply is the backbone of any computer and people still don't put them in their specs. They get no respect.

...and the PC makers skimp on the PSU to keep price points down and the masses have no idea... and the expected actual life of one is not 10 years... try 3.

80 Plus Bronze rated or higher is what I would look for in one, now and buy more watts then you think you need.... It only uses what is required, but they degrade over time and you might upgrade or add to the system.

Personally I would be looking a bit of overkill mate say a Corsair HX 750 or TX 750M just because it has more watts doesn't mean the power bill will rise and from my experience with Corsairs great gear.

By th e by too if you have measured the volts on this current one they may be ok but ok volts do not mean ok current!

I've had a similar experience and I highly suggest you RMA your video card asap. I had to RMA a GTX 280 four times until I got one that worked. There's not much you can do with a already ruined video card.

Faladu, I blown out 3 video cards on 3 separate PC's not all 3 on the same PC.I have not been seeing any issue as of late, maybe because i don't turn on my computer for like 8 hours. But I was hoping to get a better graphic card once i have the budget to afford.Honestly speaking, I only bought this graphic card on the spur of the moment and regretted wasting money on it.

You are doing something wrong to keep blowing GPUs out.

I think we might want to hear the details on blowing out of video cards....

    Questions off the bat:

ESD procedures followed? [If you have to ask what that is....] Strike 1.... Strike 2..... Strike....

Overclocking with poor cooling or just poor cooling in general, mishandling cards, etc etc.

I have to go back about 7 video cards (12+ years ago) to have one that went bad.
I've had two motherboards go bad in that same span and ZERO RAM sticks.
