Hardware acceleration is disabled or not supported by your video

    Hi Friends

i have faced a problem just after upgrading from xp to win 7 (currently there are no updates on my machine, my control panel is completely empty i didn't installed any programs till now) while playing the default games like mahjong titans, purple place i got an error message like this "hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver... "

i found some troubleshooting steps in google but unfortunately they didnt worked fine to solve my issue

the steps i found are keeping hardware acceleration high in troubleshooting tab of generic pnp monitor.

i tried updating video card drivers by using driver genius but failed.

tried uninstalling and installing default games and vga driver still there is no use.

this doesn't fixed now i am doing windows update.

    details :

    emachines t 2460

    amd Athlon

    2 GB RAM

    60 GB hdd

    thanks in advance

I googled 'emachines t 2460 specs' If it has S3 ProSavage video I don't think it is supported in win 7 due to DX9 incompatability. I might be wrong. Some smart people here so they will verify.

Wow....You should have just kept Windows XP on that relic of a computer, no offense but that machine is beyond the graveyard. I'm honestly surprised it even has 2GBs of memory...Assuming the specs still machine for the graphics card concerning the T2460.

You'll be lucky to even get DirectX to function on the graphics card or find working drivers.

Get the latest driver your "GPU" (be it for XP or Windows 7). Install it in compatibility mode if the driver is for XP. Also get latest DirectX 9.0c here: Download DirectX 9.0c (Jun 10) - FileHippo.com and install it and see if it helps. I don't know why but I can play all those games on a crappy DirectX 7 Intel 845G with XP drivers installed!
