    Intel Graphics Driver

    Hi,

I have a HP 6730b notebook with Intel GMA 4500MHD. (Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB RAM)

I'm looking for the proper graphics driver.
I need a HP-customized driver as I have problems with the generic one on Intel's website.

Previously, I had a HP-customized driver which worked fine, I'm looking for that.

I tried THIS driver (from HP's website) but it doesn't support my resolution so it's probably for different hardware.

I remember the old driver I had (before reinstalling) supported my resolution and worked flawlessly.

What driver should I download for this computer?

    UPDATE:
I managed to solve this problem. The other driver called "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel" on HP's website works fine.

    Hi,

If you enter the computer's model there (6730b), there are 2 GPU drivers one called "Intel Video Control panel" and one is called "Intel HD Graphics with TurboBoost".

I tried both of them (buth having only one installed at a time), but none of them work.
They don't support the native screen resolution and list completely unsupported resolutions. It seems like they aren't really made for this computer.

I'm sure there was a driver that worked fine since I had a HP-customized driver installed. Windows Update doesn't offer one, not even if I uninstall the ones I have installed.

Which version do you have, it list 3 choices when you enter 6730b?

Try using driver sweeper and this tutorial when installing Installing and Updating Drivers in 7

Can you open up device manager and extend the display adapter and post a screen shot

Maximum pc got me on slim drivers, worked good for me when I had trouble finding the correct driver for my laptop. And it's free to boot.

After uninstalling the driver, it shows up like this:

Sorry I don't really get what you mean. Is it a free bootable CD or a free program? I never heard of it.

UPDATE: I managed to solve this problem. If anyone has the same (or perhaps very similar) model here's what helped me:
I uninstalled the current display driver and used the "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel" from my notebook's driver page.
There are TWO graphics drivers in the list and they are two seperate drivers, not just an older version. (as older version as older versions are listed next to the version number for each)

That one worked great for me. The other one "HD Graphics with TurboBoost" never worked great. It didn't recognize my native screen resolution and the generic one from Intel's website had problems. (screen just went dark at random times when booting or waking from sleep)

I can confirm this "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel" works great and I don't have this problem.

Thanks everyone for your help. Thread closed.
