What kind of temps were you getting, and are you overclocking that card? If OC'n, STOP! :) That is obviously not stable.

    Otherwise....

First thing I would do is reseat the video card:

Make sure the slot has no dust/debris, and all fans are clean and working properly, including others in the case.
Clean contacts in the actual slot and the ones on the card, if needed. (I use a rubber eraser, that doesn't create any debris)
Make sure it fits in very tight the entire length of the card and stays that way when you screw it back on the bracket in the back or whatever system your case uses to do that.

If going all out, I would consider removing the heatsink/fan and removing the current paste there and using Arctic Silver 5 or better, and then put it back together. [Care needed or at least recommended for this, there are special supplies for removing and cleaning up after thermal paste.]

Anyhow, I do all that to remove doubt, that it's the card, because no software fussing will fix an actual card issue.

SO you rebooted, and all is fine?

What exactly were you doing when the error came up? Try to do that again...

Dug further, here is a thread I found on the subject:

Solved - ~URGENT~ Crashed 5 Times In A Row. | PC Help Forum

    Nutshell:

The 0x117 (often associated with the 0x116) error codes are usually only caused by hardware problems (overclocking, overheating, insufficient power, or general hardware failure), or problems with the driver itself. [part of reply I cherry picked]
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In your case looks like falling back one driver revision would be a good starting point, IF it reoccurs.... that is what I would do, if not chaulk it up to Windows being a bloated bugfest. :)

Guru3d.com is where I go for drivers.

Dude's link to a knowledgebase of the offending OS provider shows promise as well, good luck!
