    multiple monitors

I have a flat screen monitor that is connected via the DVI port. I also have an HDTV, where my computer connects to it via an HDMI cable. I notice they can't work simultaneously.

is there a software solution to be able to switch between the 2, perhaps by disabling something?

    thanks.

    Hi jimlau,

You should be able to right click on the Desktop and from there navigate to Screen Resolution. Once in the Screen Resolution menu, you can chose how Windows treats the second monitor / TV.

I am sorry but your post is a little vague / confusing too me. What exactly are you trying to do with them?

    jimlau,
Filling out your system spec's can also help for this and other questions in the future.

got it - on there there's the option of which display you want. so I can easily switch between using my tv as my monitor (which is much larger) and my monitor (more convenient sometimes).

    thanks.

I was going to say in Screen Resolution, should have both monitors appearing with big 1 and 2 and can drag them around for specific control of the desktop spread/space and select which is 1 or 2, even go up down instead of right to left if you really wanted it.

    Whichever is selected as
    Display: Is your main desktop.
Multiple Display: This drop box for making them work together or as separate entities.

I myself have WS 23" as #1 and as #2 a Portrait monitor (24" vertical) If I dip my mouse too low moving from #2 to #1 the way I have it, my cursor is in a black hole.
