Nvidia GPU not showing up in DxDiag

My laptop comes with a GeForce GT, it says so on a sticker and it shows up in the Device Manager.

However, when i bring up DxDiag, under the "Display 1" and "Display 2" tabs, I only see Intel HD Graphics. Why is that so?

Is my GeForce in use when I play games?

Sounds like it uses optimus, so yes it will kick in when needed.

right click on your desktop and go to nvidia control panel. in the 1 section, on one of the sub sections, there will be a toggle for it or something like that. check there.

u can try this. download gpu-z and run the render test. hit the "?" and then hit start. then open DXDiag again and you should see your Nvidia gpu
