Windows 7: Upgrade a GTS250

Upgrade a GTS250

This card has served me well. It runs games as well as I can play them, (which doesn't say much...I'm lousy). Recently, we got rid of DirecTV and use local TV with Netflix. So far, this is working OK.

Now, I'd like to connect my computer to the TV, which is in another room. My GTS250 is running 2 25" monitors at full HD but doesn't have an additional outlet.

I don't know if I should upgrade to a newer card with 3 outs or just get another card for the TV. Games I'm running now are GTA4, DeadSpace 3, Battlefield 3, SaintsRow 3. I'll probably get a few more but none that require finding the Higgs Boson. My TV is 720p. We may upgrade when smart TVs get much cheaper. 3D is useless as I have no vision in my right eye.

The "remote" TV is still close enough to respond to my wireless mouse. Can I have a separate KB+M on the TV side along with the the computer side KB+M?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Getting another cheapo HTPC fanless card to run the TV would be the best option imho (other than upgrading your current card anyway). Even stuff you find for less than 50$ has full HD (1080p) and HDMI and whatnot, and is guaranteed to work (to the contrary of most video cable splitters and repeaters and whatever).
This is a good one with 7.1 audio pass-through (you want that if you use HDMI), for an outstanding 30 bucks.

Depending on distance, buy high-quality HDMI cables, and maybe a good repeater.

Having multiple keyboard/mices isn't an issue, as long as the user remains the same (so that you either use one or the other, not both at the same time even if still connected).
For HTPC duties I recommend a flymouse. Or something equivalent anyway, there are tons of similar devices around.
