    Hi and welcome

I dont know what kind of a budget you have but for little money you can get a card that will run aero. 128 Mb isnt enough. Let us know what youc an spend and we will give you a hand

As your system is 5 years old im going to guess your mobo has AGP rather than pci-e. Look up from computer shops in your area (google is a wonderful tool) and have a look at their video card section. Most places still sell AGP cards even though are get getting older and you can pick up a low spec video card for as little as $15 these days. Any video card is better than the onboard graphics.

This NVIDIA 8400 GS PCI card is well worth it. It is perfect and cheap for the purpose of having Aero, playing many games and HD video.

It easily supports two monitors - one digital output and one vga analog output.

it says right here the requirements for aero is 128 for a graphics card

    1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    1 GB of RAM
    128 MB graphics card

    i got 128

for my Gv CARD AND 2.5 OF MEMORY RAM
so i don't know i kinda wasted all my money on windows 7 200 dollars for the full version......after my last OEM os xp.no cd..got erased by hard drive failure so

around 50 dollars. thanks for your help.

I think you will find windows 7 wil be helpful for making your current hardware work better. As for the graphics card, you must decide if you like ATI or Nvidia better. The nice thing about Nvidia is the support is better for drivers. ATI just seams sort of lost lately, and yes I have ATI. Do you prefer one card over the other?

Hrrrm...what makes you say that? To me, their drivers have been perfection since the 7000 beta. I haven't had the slightest issue to speak of with beta drivers and normal ones.

Same exact thing here for NVIDIA on my other pc as well.

The latest ATI 9.11 makes my video card even more awesome than what it was. For AGP, I'm definitely not complaining. 7.0 both WEI.

I say that because ATI just slaps out new updates to fix one problem and causes another with the system configurations for various PC's. I mean, come on.....they can't even fix their own fan speed controls. You have to use a outside source program like RivaTuner to cool the darn cards down correctly. Now I have an ATI but knowing what I know now, I would have bought Nvidia just because I do so much Video applications.

seven7, if you game then check what card your games recommend, if you intend to use it for mainly Video the go with Nvidia and at least a 512 MB with DDR5. That is why I sold off one of my ATI 3870 X2 cards. Great card but could be and there are better.

I've never had an issue with fan speed. When I don't overclock, I never have an issue. When I do overclock, I set it to 100%.

Maybe because your card is x2 - I could see there being a difference but I can't say because I never used one like that before.

So, I'll take you word for it.
