[HELP] Display driver has stopped responding. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6
Here's my setup:
HP G42-476TX running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with an AMD ATI Mobility Radeon 6370M
Heres what happened:
Was playing an MMORPG called RF Online, fairly low sys reqts as I have been playing this game ever since on an pentium 4 rig. While playing my screen froze and the the whole laptop froze after the freeze a BSOD appeared, and rebooted fine. Then the display driver error showed up and then it froze again. Right now when ever I try to turn the computer on all I get is a blankscreen as if the LCD has been disconnected from the main board but that is not the case. When I tried connecting it through an external momitor the display would appear but is on the Windows recovery menu. I can access safe mode without a problem. Ok now, I am left with a laptop that has a blank screen and solely depends on an external monitor for video output. Also sometimes if I leave the laptop turned off and come back to after a couple of minutes or hours, it would boot up normally with the LCD on.
The problem:
After hours and hours of browsing about the problem I have came across a handful of "fixes" and "solutions" to the problem and so far none have worked so far, thus here I am. Still trying to resolve it. Ok so my main problem is the blackscreen after it crashes, I always need to attach it to an external monitor so I can see display BUT the thing is, SOMETIMES it shows up on the laptop screens and sometimes it does not. And ofcourse secondly the driver problem that forces my laptop tp crash and restart.
What I have done so far:
Ok so far there has been a couple of things I have done. First was I upgraded the drivers, second, I uninstalled the drivers and installed them again, third I followed some steps from microsoft support to fix the problem by editing the registry which did not work aswell.
So far there is still a number of things I havent tried.
My question:
Will a clean install of Windows fox this for sure? If not are there any other alternativies? Also I have seen a couple of suggestions on diff forums that it has something to do with the voltage, is this a possibility and how can I remedy this?
This problem has been bugging me for two days and I still cannot get a fix. Any help from you guys would be VERY HIGHLY APPRECIATED. Soo thank you in advance guys. And please, help
