How recently did you purchase the card? I would contact the manufacturer and try to get it RMA. The card at idle should be around 40C, under load should be about 70-80C (that's with my card under stock cooling).

If you look at your video card, there should be a fan, and it blows air over the heatsink to carry heat away. The heat sink is in contact with the GPU chip on the card (two flat metal surfaces against each other). You have to use thermal paste between the surface so they make complete contact. If there's improper contact or no contact, the heat dissipation will be impaired, and the card overheats.

It doesn't seem like you would be comfortable with taking apart your video card, don't want to risk damaging the card if you apply too much force when putting everything back together. If you know a friend that can do this, that's a good option to try. Otherwise I think you should try sending the card in for repair.
