Sorry I should have gone in depth with my response with " dont put Hp links of drivers" For those who said use speecy thanks cause now I know what I have... I think : Intel Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family( dunno whether that deals with graphics or display). I went to the hp site found the driver for it and downloaded it and as it was installing I got this error message " An error occurred while registering one or more components"
SO I was wondering if there are other drivers compatible with this or how to get around this error. Thanks guys for your help so far :)

Who 'fixed' your PC? Do you still have the same Windows and software setup as before? Was Windows reinstalled?

A friend of my dad. My screen broke but my father didnt have enough money so he opted for outing the harddrive of my toshiba into the hp laptop.

Ok this is the problem here if it is a HP and running a Intel core duo you need to install both HD graphics for Intel and the Driver for the GPU if your not willing to do that it will not work

Laptops are not like desktops they have limited abilities depending on who made it HP doesn't allow any outside drivers so you best go to HP and get there drivers
