WDDM compatible driver for aspire 3610

I just couldn't resist the windows 7 experience on my beloved laptop. I was warned that they might not be supported (they look like not, considered that I m searching for this driver about a week) they run ideally. Only flaw, they replaced the manufacturers drivers and "video controller" driver is missing. It looks like intel chipset 915 malfunctions and to be honest I trust Nvidia better. Is there any chance that relative driver exists?

The chances of finding a Windows 7 driver for that old Intel 915 is exactly zero. Reason being is that Intel never released one. About the best you can hope for is to hope the XP driver will install and work. You won't get Aero if it does work, which doesn't matter much as the old 915 graphics doesn't have the necessary hardware in it to support Aero anyway.

Sorry, but the previous Intel 915 driver that worked under Win7 will NOT work under Win8. I had an old Fujitsu laptop with the same chipset and tried everything I found -- nothing worked. Learned that the reason is that the Intel 915 driver is XPDM, not WDDM, and MS removed XPDM support from Win8. So, it's never going to work in Win8.

If you're getting to a Win7 desktop then your claim that "I have no video driver" is not true. You MUST have a working video driver in order to get to a desktop.

There are Intel915 video drivers out there for Windows 7. If you look through my threads, you will find one in which I report on those drivers -- as I struggled to get it working on my old Fujitsu laptop when I first install Win7 on it.

You MUST have a working video driver

Windows 7 do not recognize previous versions drivers and the "so" recommended by Intel does not apply, so the monitor adapter is defined as Standard Vga and video controller is uninstalled. Windows 7 are perfect but they cant perform magic! The original driver for my laptop is Mobile Intel® 910GML Express Chipset with the following specs:

400 MHz Front Side Bus Supports 400 MHz Front Side Bus. Support for dual channel DDR2 400 MHz memory technology Up to 20% improvement in peak memory bandwidth and average power savings over DDR memory.

Dual independent display View two independent video sources when an external monitor or panel is connected to the laptop.

Serial ATA Provides up to 150 MB/sec transfer rate for disk traffic.

Direct Media Interface (DMI) With up to 2 GB/sec concurrent bandwidth, DMI provides up to 4x faster I/O bandwidth compared to previous Intel proprietary Hub link I/O interface.

Integrated high speed USB 2.0 Support for eight USB 2.0 peripherals for maximum 40x faster data transfer and backward compatible to support USB 1.1 devices.

Intel® High Definition Audio (Intel® HD Audio) Audio specification enables increased bandwidth for high quality audio and support for Dolby* Technologies. Also enables power savings during audio activity.

    Integrated TV out
Provides board space and cost savings by eliminating the need for additional discrete chips.

PCI Express* Bus Architecture Delivers up to a 4x increase in discrete graphics bandwidth and 2x the I/O bandwidth. Also supports industry peripherals such as ExpressCard*. Low pin count offers maximum bandwidth per pin.
Question is: according to this how can I find a Wddm-compatible driver for windows 7

I'll repeat it again just in case you missed it; there is not now and never will be a Windows 7 driver for that chipset/graphics as Intel dropped support for it before Windows 7 came out. Anyone or any site that tells you otherwise either doesn't know what they are talking about, or trying to get you to spend money on something that doesn't exists.

Now with that said as long as you are running 32 bit Windows you should be able to get the driver to install using Compatibility Mode,

    Compatibility Mode

If that doesn't work then try installing it manually through Device Manager,

I already answered you in my previous post. In some of my earlier threads about video drivers, I list the download link to obtain the working Intel915GM XPDM drivers -- which will install in Win7.
