I've requested more help as I'm struggling to get my head around your system specs.

The people attempting to help you need more info about the computer and the video card inside it.

It is your choice, you (or the computer owner) can:
...follow the steps in post #12 and answer the question in post #13
    ...or live with the problem
...or seek help elsewhere (e.g. call Sony support).

It is not my intent to be rude. I'm just attempting to answer your question and detail your options.

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator

Can't you get the Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Drivers installed for this machine?

Contains nVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 with up to 335 MB shared memory.
This is only good enough to run Sims 2 at "medium" graphics settings.

DXDiag says you have a 1280x1024 display. You should put that in your system specs.

Here's another thing that's listed about this computer ... it was only designed for Windows Vista HP. Was the computer upgraded from Vista to 7?
It was also meant to be designed as a HTPC as well (one of the early media-center PC's), as it had a built-in TV Tuner. It also had DVR, which allowed a user to record their favorite shows, pause TV, and practically time-shift recordings direct to disk or DVD. It can be mounted on a wall or placed in a TV hutch, or simply have it on your desk.

    It's also ... Discontinued.

Sony stopped short of supplying driver updates just before Windows 7 came out. But you might get lucky and give Windows Update a quick run.

You will, however, need to look in Device Manager to see if any yellow triangles show up. They appear as

For my two cents worth I would drop in 2GB more RAM a new drive and an OEM 7, then use the old rive for whatever and retrieve data from it.

The specs perhaps I am not looking in the right place but are pretty vague - DDR 1/2/3 ?what
