    Monitor Not detecting DVI

    Greetings,

I have researched this topic for a few days and have found many simular problems. However none of which have helped me. So here it goes..

I recently replaced my heat sink with an aftermarket heat sink (same socket type and all)
I through everything back together made sure everything was plugged back in correctly and now my monitor does not boot with the computer. The orange standby light just stays orange. If I turn it off and then back on it says scanning and then a green arrow comes up next to DVI. Then the monitor goes to sleep. There are no beeps on boot-up, all the fans and lights work. I did notice the motherboard temp clock says "FF" not sure what that is.

So far I have done the following:

    Reset monitor cables
    Reset power on monitors
    Re seated memory
    Re seated video card
Tried a brand new video card
Did a hard boot down with the power chord out and holding down the power button for 30 seconds

none of these have worked. The monitors are fine I tried them on a different computer.

There was no short circuit that I am aware of I kept grounding myself to avoid this.

I am at wits end here and can't figure it out..

    Something to try:
Boot into the Safe Mode and let Windows load it's drivers.
When the desktop appears, restart your computer.
