Correct resolution but very blurry text, non pnp problem through DVI
OK so I have two monitors of 1920 by 1200 pixels each, one HP the second Iiyama. Each is supplied by a DVI cable (I have two Nvidia Geforce 210 graphics cards each of which has a DVI output at the native resolution). Recently the Iiyama stopped being identified as an Iiyama and was just labelled generic pnp monitor, whilst the HP is always seen as an HP. Plus the default resolution of the Iiyama went down to 1024 by 768.
I've manually adjusted the resolution of the Iiyama back to 1920x1200 and 60Hz progressive, which it accepts, but the problem is that the monitor text is extremely fuzzy and difficult to read but the resolution is the correct 1920x1200 resolution. I believe the output from the video card is sharp since if I take a screenshot (Printscreen) of the very fuzzy text and view that portion of the screenshot on my HP monitor it's perfectly sharp so it must be something happening at the level of the monitor.
If I swap DVI cables around or connect to a different video card DVI then it's still really fuzzy and labelled generic pnp.
I read in a few places about EDID settings but am nervous about trying to flash my monitor or do other crazy stuff without being totally sure what the problem is. Can some kind person suggest what I should do next?
