New GPU problem pc shutdown

Thank you for the repsponding everybody.That psu has pcie connector 6 pin 12v which powers the card.Tried swithing the gpu to the other pcie slot i got and now my motherboard (GA-N650SLI-DS4 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI Chipset)makes long continuous beeps at both pcie slots.After that Cleared the CMOS and now my motherboard doesn't make any beep at all plus no video signal..

put int your other card, and boot to windows. download a bios update, and also download the new gtx driver. while your there, uninstall the old driver. then shut down and reboot to bios. flash the new bios. then reboot to windows. if it reboots sucessflly, then power down and take the card out and put your new one it. reboot and install driver.

the bios problem is gone now...now pc turns on but the problem with the power down after you start a game still exists....

Also the psu problem doesn't make sense as my old GPU( 8800 GTS 640Mb) needed more power at it peaks.

i bet its your PSU still.

have you re installed drivers?

According to the spec's of your power supply there are no PCIE connectors/cables and the 500w version doesn't either. Are you sure that is the power supply you have and that there is a 6pin pcie cable connected to the graphic card?
Are you able to borrow another power supply to test in your system? I can't find any reviews on that psu so this is just guess work. Your psu is rated as 550w what but as it is a low budget psu probably doesn't actually produce the rated amount. As i said its just guess work and maybe totally wrong which is why i asked if you could borrow a better psu to test. If you still have the same issue then it's not down to the psu. If the problem is solved when you try a better one then you know what the cause is.

My power supply is 550W and it has 6pin pcie cable connected to the GPU.Need to find a friend with a good PSU so i can test out but still can't understand how my old GPU(8800 GTS 640mb)didn't have any problem although it needed more power at it peaks....

It may not be your psu, as i said its just guess work. When you got your new card did you do a clean install of the drivers?

clean you mean if i deleted the drivers from my old GPU?no i didn't i only installed the new drivers

thats probs your issue.

Unistalled all drivers via device manager + Driver sweeper rebooted windows made the VGA update for drivers succesfully but the problem still exists.Another thing i forgot to mention which may help is when i start a game a strange sound comes from my pc (probably from GPU) it becomes louder as i proceed in game enviroment and then my pc shuts down.

EDIT: The strange sound comes from the PSU.is it a possible Coil Whine??
