AMD Radeon HD 8000 series are purely rebranded HD 7000 Series.

They seem to be really discounting them now. Solar, just hold on a bit and let Paul get one of the new ones. He can be our Guinea pig.
Yes I was thinking this as well because if they are around $500 a piece might just have to pass it wouldn't be that worth it for 15 to 20%

Half of the games I am playing now can't keep up with me not the other way around

I don't know if youtube is working, but I have been watching it here - amd live - live streaming video powered by Livestream

For the last 20 mins they have been talking about sound, totally boring and not what I am interested in!

The top 3 models are the R9 270X, R9 280X and R9 290X, I didn't catch the price on the top one but I can tell you the lower 2 are priced at $200 and $300 respectively. And they said the top one will be available to pre-order on Oct 3rd and there will be a limited amount that come with BF4.

    Paul.
If the R9280 is 300.00 the 290 will probably be around the same about 400.00 if that is accurate they will stay on there low price values

Seriously, are they having a laugh, I just saw the R9 290X available for pre-order but you have to pay £100 and you have no idea what the remaining balance will be when they are released. And lets not forget the fact we have no performance figures yet. Jeez am I the only one that thinks this is mental!!

Edit: I should add, this is not the Etailers fault, AMD have still not released pricing but have let the cards go on pre-order. A silly position to put the Etailers in if you ask me. This particular Etailer has said if you are not happy with the price when it is given you can get a full refund on your deposit which is fair enough.

    AMD have gone insane.

I think it's kind of like saying, 'Let's see just how stupid people really are.'I've seen some 'leaked' info from Chinese sites that say it is on average around 30% faster than the Titan. But, I don't trust the Chinese sites and AMD are notorious for this (without the pre order stuff). The leaked sources were AMD in reality. Remember just before the Bulldozer was released. All the leaked (AMD) benchmarks showed it well better than the i7. Those benchmarks were cherry picked by AMD that favor more cores and heavily multi threaded apps. In real world apps and useage, we all know how all the hype turned out. No offence, Ryan, but you have been heard saying how the AMD CPUs fare against the i7's. I'm not paying anything until I see some reliable real world performance from reliable sources. Even then, different than you guys, no matter how good they are, it's going to have to be pretty spectacular for me to pay $600 for a graphics card.
