Monitor not detected after sleep
OK, so this is a repost from a year ago (I got no replies then and I still have the problem) so maybe someone will see this and have some advice:
I have an odd problem. I have a pc running windows 7 64 with an ati hd4770. I have it outputting to two displays: a 1080p monitor near the computer (in the home office) and to a 1080p lcd tv ~60 feet away in the living room. Both are being driven by the dual DVI outputs on the card.
This generally works well but lately I'll turn on the tv (and wake the computer) and the pc will not recognize the TV as being connected and will not output a signal. This usually happens overnight (so it won't work the next morning). There is no power saving set up on the pc except for shutting off the displays after 20 minutes. This does not happen every night, but maybe 2-3 times a week.
The other monitor works fine (I never loose it) and when I look in the settings only that monitor is detected.
Sometimes a reeboot works, sometimes just plugging/ unplugging the HDMI cable int he back of the TV. When the reboot does NOT work, I always get the BIOS screen at least on the TV, and the windows start with the little coloured balls doing their dance and then I loose it again at the login screen.
When it is up and we're using it I never loose it, even for high throughput stuff like blu-ray.
So I figure it is a problem with the TV not outputting a strong enough signal back to the computer to let it know it exists.
Anyway, I want to know if there is a way to force 1080p 60 hz output on both of the graphics card outputs regardless of what is detected. Should be a way....
I did try to switch the outputs on the card. Didn't seem to make a difference.
Thanks,
