Sadly, this problem has carried over.. Its HP and Nvidia's fault, b/c HP doesn't allow nvidia to make drivers directly to these in-laptop graphics cards.

But as for now, i found a simple solution that doesnt involve drivers, aero, or disabling UAC.
From: GeForce Go 6100 Annoyances - NVIDIA Forums

"right-click your Windows desktop and hit up the NVidia control panel, choose the advance setting and under the Display tab hit up "Change flat panel scaling" and turn that setting off."

Works in Win7 too! And it doesnt seem like it uses scaling
Thank you, imo45! Just upgraded a friend's old Vista laptop to Windows 7, and your tip saved the day!!!
