    ATI 3670 HDMI out small 1920 x 1080

Anyone else having an issue with HDMI out to a 24" monitor in full 1920 x 1080. IT is missing about an inch from each edge and is clearly not full resolution.

Im using a Dell 1640 (XPS16), with an ATI Mobility Radeon 3670 card to a Viewsonic (VX2433WM).

I have tried the Beta drivers from ATI and the latest reccomended drivers from Dell. Neither change the display.

Have update BIOS and all updates from MS.

The beta driver from ATI worked on build 7100, wasnt till I "upgraded" to RTM that the display quit working.

Any helps or tricks would be appreciated as Dells response was "hopefully theyll get around to it soon".

Is your LCD showing up as PNP in device mngr? If so try installing the drivers for it. This should give you the full resolution and refresh rate. Fabe

Yeah I tried that too and it is seen as the proper monitor that is mirrored.

Just dont get how the vid drivers worked on RC1 (which I even updated before I moved to RTM) but not after.

i have the same problem. I'm curious, are you using the beta version of Win7? Cause my friend tested the hdmi with the same monitor on his laptop, and he has a retail version of windows 7 and it worked fine.

    Yes

Yes I can manually change the driver between what Windows wants to use (WDDM), the beta ATI drivers, and the Dell updated drivers.

It has to be something with the HDMI port as that is what was wrong before on the 7100 load.

Initially I did the upgrade from 7100 to 7600 but when the drivers didnt work I did a clean install and still it didnt work.

I used the overscan feature in the catlyst control center to (what seemed Like) zoom the monitor in to fill all the blank space. I have 7 pro 64 on a dell vostro 220 and dell 24'' monitor on a radeon 4350.
