    Computer complete restore.

Hey guys, I had to completely restore my computer after a MiM attack. The issue is since I completely reformatted my hard drive (wasn't able to salvage anything) all my drivers were deleted. I own a HP PAvilion dv7, I went to the site and installed some of the drivers.

But the issue is my graphics driver, my resolution is all messed up. When I go to my graphic card settings it just says "generic vga." I can't remember the exact model but my graphics card - but, it was a family chip set. (or something along those lines) Is there a way I can easily install all my drivers once again?

    Thanks!

Yup, win7 allows you to update additional drivers on your pc in the normal controll panel option. For your graphics card, if it is nvidia, go to their site and go to driver download, there is an option tha you select and this allows them to see what graphics card you have, and what driver will be best needed, its on the main screen after clicking the driver download tab. This will give you your card name, and best driver for it. As for the other driver, you need your motherboard cd for the basics, use controll panels, driver update for windows and related software. And the rest you can get form the friendly google :). If your card is ATI, I believe the same can be done from their site too(not sure on this, not an ati user...ever) But family, is used on nvidia, so I believe the nvidia option will work for you.

    Hope it helps

Did you try the video drivers from the HP site? Usually, with an OEM like HP, it's best to get the drivers from their site, instead of scrounging around the interner, because HP uses customized motherboards and it's likely drivers from other sites will not work.

Yep, go the HP site, punch in your model and it should bring up all the software for your pc, find the vga drivers on the list and install them.
