    Dude, did you install the drivers in compatibility mode?
    For that you have right click on the .exe file of the driver, go to compatibility mode, under the option "Run this program in compatible mode". Select Windows Vista. Also, select "Run as admin". Then execute the file and install the drivers.
    But, make sure you uninstall the drivers first and user Driver Sweeper to remove the old driver completely.

    Reason to use compatibility mode is that the card is old and we might not get the correct drivers for this card and Win 7. So, we need to use the drivers made for Vista and force install them on Win 7.

    GeForce FX 5500 will WORK on Windows 7 OS as long as you have any tweaks because its a DirectX 9.0c graphic card (which NVIDIA kept it as a secret). But I suggest use that graphics card with Windows XP.

    Hi Again
    Several years passed and still the problem persists.

    my old Graphic FX 5500 and I had that corrupt my graphics.

    now i can use other geforce model (MX440) when i install drivers pc freezee and sometimes Bluescreen with nv4_disp

    my pc works fine witout installing nvidia drivers.

    but i can't play games or some application.videos not good plays and ...
