    Help can't install AMD CCC

Hi recently I bought a used laptop, to upgrade my old laptop. The laptop is an asus k42j with an ati mobility radeon hd 5470 graphics 1gb. I download the automatic software and download the latest amd ccc. Everytime I try to insall it, it's giving me a failure. The only ccc i was able to download was the one on asus drivers page. When I download that and install it, and went under update drive and download that it's giving me an error when installing. Please help me, I can't get a refund on this.

What kind of failure? Error message? You're not giving much to go on. Have you checked the prerequisites for the drivers? Perhaps it needs .NET 3.5 or above.

In addition since it's a laptop you should use whatever drivers ASUS has for the machine. Laptops generally need drivers written specifically for them. The ATI company was taken over by AMD 3-4 years ago and I suspect their latest CCC would not work.

What "automatic software" do you mean?

The modal number you give isn't complete, there should be one more letter at the end, a, j, e, y, etc.

The model number is a K42JR. The automatic software detects what graphic card I have and download the correct drive. I use that program and it download a ccc for me, when i try to install it, its says its not compatable and check are you using windows 7-32 or 64.

I see, here is where to get the latest driver available from ASUS from 4/28/2011, Version V 8.84, under VGA. https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultra...K42Jr/#support

Did you use the ASUS Live Update Utility? Those automatic driver finder tools are often wrong.

And often carry unwanted "add-ons". I would be running an AV and malware scan if it didn't come from ASUS.
