Gretteings , fellow Brainiacs !

Im one step from hitting my lap top with something hard , and although it will not fix my problem , it would make me feel better . However , i would restrain my Hatred Vibes towards the machine , cuz i dont have money for another one . OK
So here is the problem :
1. My os is Windows 7
2. I have a Toshiba Satellite l500-13t PSLj3E-018017B3 ( why people wont make their model names shorter ?
and the graphic card ati radeon mobility 4500 HDM-shait
so :
3 . I have downloaded and freshly Installed several hundred versions of ati catalyst drivers , tried to disable windows 7 autamatic driver install , ive eaten google inside-out ( twice) , and spent an entire week wallowing in despair , that some of my games wont stretch when i play them .
3 yrs ago , i had a similar problem with a sony Vaio ( installed Ati centre , clicked on the "stretch everything" box , and miracously everything worked fine )
And now , as i install ATi CAtalYst Suite ( tried versios 9.1 9.2 9.everything upo to 9.5 , tried to download earlier versions , updatet my frame network to 3. something ) and after each install , when i go to the ati technologies folder in my program files folder , i open it - and guess what - there is nothing there ! I would realy like to to find some kind of an exe files that would start catalyst properties so i would be able to change graphic setting s the way they are suppose to , but yet , again , and again i have failed .
I even reinstalled my windows 3 times , and tried to do a fresh catalyst instal , but the result was the same - drivers install , audio driver something installs , but the control centre options(in the installer ) is checked but highlighted in GREY

People i beseech you ! HELP MEEEEE !

No problems at all, just followed your excellent recipe. You just rescued my investment in my card, and I guess this old beast of a Dell has some more life left!!

Download that and overwrite the original with it by copying and pasting over it.

The folder it goes to is C:\ATI\Support\9-10_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF

After doing that, right click your card in device manager, choose update driver software. Browse. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Go to the above folder and choose the .inf I made for you.

If it complains the driver is not signed, let it install anyway. Reboot and then choose an Aero theme by rt clicking desktop, choose personalize.

Run setup.exe in C:\ATI\Support\9-10_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver
if you want CCC too.

da link u hav sent here for rapidshare file has been removed from there
can u plz send me a link of dat or mail dat file to me
dat wud b very much appreciated....thnx

All you need to do is go to device manager, right click on card (standard vga), choose properties, details tab. Change the dropdown to hardware ids. It's the next one down. Then tell me what is to the right of dev_ in any line. I need the 4 digit value.

In the meantime, extract the install driver .exe to C:\ATI. I will upload an .inf for you to replace in there. Then you can install manually through the device manager by updating driver and finding the exact .inf.

We will be using the latest Catalyst 9.10 x86 32 bit for this, for Win 7. So download that if you currently are using something different. No hotfix. Normal Catalyst.
I have the same problem...my 4 digit # is 9498 , its a Radeon 4650 HD PCI-E card...

That attachment is "unavailable" , and those linked drivers/file are what i was attempting to install, with no success. However, best I can tell the DRIVER is working OK, its just the catalyst control center that won't load?

Hello torrentg,

I seem to be having the same problem! My card is an nVidia 8800GT (two of them, actually). Does your solution work on these cards as well? I'm using the latest driver for Vista x64 (191.07).
