Thanks - how come both say they are teh main display.
Only one should be your main display, preferably DSG TV

After this, I don't think I can be much more help - your new monitor is working well now.
If you want to leave this open to see if another member can help with the old monitor - that's fine.

Oh sorry, I've sent two screenshots where they are each the main display. He's a screenshot of the older monitor when the newer one is set to being the one only to display.

With that change, does your new monitor function well?

I think this issue is solved - you did great!

If you're going to use both monitors, then that's a different issue.

I do intended to use both monitors, but it is indeed a good start. :) I'll leave the thread open a little longer, see if I can get any more help with the second, but thanks for your help nonetheless. We've solved one problem and the second one is closer - I'm getting another HDMI cable and a HDMI -> DVI adapted between the 6th and the 9th, so if that helps at all I'll post it here. :)

Try cleaning off and out the ports they could have oil from your fingers on them smudging the picture.

Hey - how would I go about cleaning the ports? I don't want to damage them and don't own one of those air gun things.

Final update - so my new cable and hdmi - dvi adapter arrived yesterday. I plugged them both in with no change. However, this morning when I restarted, both screens were functioning perfectly. :) I tried swapping out a cable, just to be sure, however it seems my graphics card just wanted both monitors to be EXACTLY the same, settings-wise. Going to mark this as solved, thanks again for your help. :)
