are you plugging your monitor into your gpu or still into the motherboard display port?
if its the latter it will always use the intel gpu.
also have you remembered to plug in the 6/8 pin power lead to the gpu. its often overlooked lol.
Try this method:
Use Driver Sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/g...r_sweeper.html
then remove the graphics drivers and reboot. After removing the drivers, reboot your computer then install the driver from NVIDIA then follow the steps then see what will happen.
in the bios it should come under something like advanced chipset options. just something that may have been overlooked because of its less than accurate title.
